Opera integrates the Unstoppable Domains
Unstoppable Domains domain names allow to host sites on the blockchain in a decentralized. Opera users so can now access sites that are hosted on the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), a decentralized file storage system.
Domains in .crypto, .eth or .zil are actually non-fungible tokens (NFT), which are built on Ethereum. They allow a site to be incensurable: in order to delete it, the entire network should theoretically be deleted. Another advantage of .crypto domains is that they are also wallet addresses, which allow you to directly receive cryptocurrencies.

Crypto domains that are spreading
The Unstoppable Domains project had already created bridges with browsers other than Opera. In March 2020, its domain names had started to be accessible via a Chrome extension. But this is the first time that a browser like Opera integrates it natively.
As Opera’s statement explains, to date, more than 700,000 blockchain domain names have been registered. The company expects this number to rise sharply in the coming years:
“We want to empower anyone to access the web, regardless of the technology behind it. We have always supported innovation, and the decentralized Web, or Web3, is the next wave to come. […] Registering your crypto domain, which will be yours forever, is a great introduction to Web3. “
